Connecticut man arrested for pretending to be Harry Styles to seduce young girls

A 45-year-old Connecticut man has been arrested for impersonating One Direction hearthrob Harry Styles in order to get young girls to perform sex acts for him via webcam.

According to The Waterbury Republican American, John Eastman was arrested after U.S marshals found Eastman in Virginia after fleeing CT. Police found more than 500 pornographic videos and photographs of underage girls on his computer.

The Associated Press notes that Eastman used the screen name HarryStyles888 and used several photographs of Styles in his online profile in order to persuade young fans that he was in fact the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer.

Eastman told detectives, "My hope is that the girl will show me herself on camera and then pose in a sexual manner, or perform some kind of sex act for me.”

The AP notes that some of the images found on Eastman's computer were of girls as young as the age of 5. Eastman would promise the young girls concert tickets among other swag in exchange for the images.

Eastman was previously on the sex offenders list for 10 years until being removed in 2009. He is currently being held in jail on $500,000 bail and will appear in court on Thursday.
