After 12 years of marriage, Courtney Cox and David Arquette have officially split. The two had met on the set of Scream in 1996 and were married not long after in 1999. The two have been separated since 2010 and both filed for a divorce in June of 2012 according to the LA Times. Despite the split the two have stated that they are remaining friends. They have decided to request for joint legal and physical custody of their 8 year-old daughter Coco, committed to raising her together.
After the two were officially separated in 2010, Arquette started dating Christina McLarty, an Entertainment Tonight reporter in September of 2011. The two called it quits in May 2012 but shortly after the breakup they decided to give their relationship another go. Cox, on the other hand, has said “she’s just not ready” to be in a serious relationship again.
Despite Arquette apparently moving on from Cox, the two really have managed to stay friends.
“I mean…It's hard,” Cox was reported saying to Ellen DeGeneres. “I don't recommend divorce in general but you know, he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed and I think we both appreciate each other more. I hope he does. I do.”
