This month’s British Cosmopolitan cover girl, Isla Fisher reveals her struggles as a starting actress. The Great Gatsby actress tells Cosmo that after she was fired from her agent in Los Angeles, she was then denied help from her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen’s agent.
Yikes! So how did the 37-year-old Australian raised actress keep a positive attitude before breaking into Hollywood?
Fisher told Cosmo, and as quoted by the Daily Mail, it is important to remain in tune with your femininity.
“Women should not have to adopt masculine traits in order to succeed. You should be able to stay as a woman, and in tune with your femininity and still be equal. Women one hundred percent support each other in the movie industry.
Fisher is also passionate about motherhood. She has two daughters with Cohen (Olive, 5, and Elula, 2). US Weekly also says that Fisher helps out fellow mothers who do not have access to childcare.
Fisher is also working on writing a script with her mom.
“She doesn’t understand the rules of screenwriting, so I’m often like, ‘What?! Mum, you can’t kill off the protagonist one page 10!” Fisher says.
The full interview with Fisher will be available in the July edition of British Cosmopolitan on sale June 4.
