Kanye West's building projections of 'New Slave' shut down in Houston

Police shut down a screening of Kanye West’s “New Slaves” in Houston, following previous building projects all over the world, including in the background of his recent Saturday Night Live performance.

West shows where these will take place on his website, providing a map that gives fans the time and location of each event.

However, The Houston Chronicle reports his plans to project on Rothko Chapel, Central Library downtown and the George Bush Monument didn’t go as planned.

A large crowd showed up to witness one of these building projections at Rothko Chapel, but police threatened to arrest anyone who didn’t leave for trespassing. At the library, it didn’t happen due to “technical difficulties” and the George Bush Monument screening of “New Slaves” was a “no-show,” fan Janet Quiroa said.

Quiroa explained “All we saw were the sprinklers come on and obnoxious people screaming Kanye threats.”

West’s new album Yeezus will come out June 18, and he’s expecting his first child with Kim Karashian sometime in July.
