‘Glee’s’ Jayma Mays to star alongside Will Arnett in new CBS comedy

Now that her beloved Glee character Emma Pillsbury is happily (and finally) married to Glee club leader Will Schuester, the actress has decided to take on a new challenge - starring as Will Arnett’s sister in CBS’s freshman comedy, The Millers.

Created by Greg Garcia, The Millers is a multicamera comedy about a brother and sister whose parents get divorced and the mother (Margo Martindale) moves in with her recently divorced son (Arnett), while the father (Beau Bridges) moves in with his sister Debbie (Mays) and her husband.

According to TV Line, Mays is replacing Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who played the character of Debbie in the pilot. Debbie’s husband is also in the process of being recasted, originally portrayed by Michael Rappaport.

The Hollywood Reporter describes Debbie as a wife and mother of two who is shocked by her parents’ divorce and does not know how to handle her clueless father interrupting her life.

Mays is reported to still make recurring guest appearances on Glee, just as she did last season. This is also marks Mays’ first series regular spot since being on Glee. She has also previously guest starred on The League and How I Met Your Mother.

The Millers will premiere Thursday, September 27th at 8:30EST following The Big Bang Theory.
