As a result of an on-going feud, Jennifer Aniston has rejected her mother Nancy Dow, 76, from attending her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Justin Theroux.
A source told Hollywood Life that Dow will not be present at Aniston’s small ceremony this summer.
“They [Aniston and Theroux] are having a small, intimate wedding, and a lot of people have been left off, but Nancy’s name is the first,” the source explained.
Just last August Radar Online reported that Dow was invited to the wedding because Aniston had finally reconciled with her mother.
A source close to the family revealed, “Nancy and Jennifer have had their ups and downs, but they’re going to let bygones be bygones and she will be invited to her daughter’s wedding ceremony.”
Initially, it was reported that Aniston’s fiancé, Theroux, had facilitated the reconciliation.
The source continued, “Justin comes from a tight-knit family who he is very close to. He preaches family values to Jennifer and he said to her he’d love a private, low-key ceremony with all their family members present.”
But apparently this rekindled relationship broke down over the course of just one year.
The tension between Aniston and Dow stems all the way back to 1996 when Dow tried to capitalize on her daughter’s huge success from starring on the show Friends.
Dow first gave a tell-all interview about her relationship with Aniston. Shortly after, Dow wrote an equally revealing book about her daughter called From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir.
After these acts of betrayal, Aniston disowned her mother.
This is not the first time Aniston has banned her mother from attending a life-changing event.
In 2000, Dow was not invited to Aniston and Brad Pitt’s lavish marriage ceremony.
