Oklahoma tornado kills mother and child, traps cars on interstate

After the tornado that leveled Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, another tornado has reportedly killed a mother and child in Oklahoma City.

According to US Today, commuters on an interstate were trapped as three tornadoes and violent storms tore through the city, flipping a car over that held the mother and child.

CBS News reported that 4 feet deep waters flooded Interstate 40 while emergency officials reported more injuries than the mother and child.

Betsy Randolph, a state Highway Patrol spokeswoman told CNN, "We've got a nightmare situation going on right now.” Thousands of vehicles among flipped over big rigs and cars are allegedly trapped on the interstate.

"The Interstate is at a standstill," Randolph told Reuters. "We are begging people to get off the Interstate and seek immediate shelter. We are in a dire situation."

Mayor of Moore, Oklahoma, Glenn Lewis could not believe that his city had been hit again, according to CNN.

50,000 citizens were without power Friday evening.
