‘The Big Bang Theory:’ what we learned from Comic-Con including season 7 details

Hit CBS sitcom took Comic-Con by storm on Friday.

Highlights from the panel included playing a taped message explaining the big bang theory through a reading the theme song, a hilarious taped message from guest star Stephen Hawking, a video of the show’s nerdiest moments, and finally series star Johnny Galecki crashing the panel in Princess Leaia’s Bounty Hunter attire.

The writers and producers were more than open to sharing details about the sitcom. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the writers talked about the inside stories from the show’s iconic moments. Steve Molaro, the current showrunner, referenced the episode when Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) comes back from space and wants to have sex with his new wife, Bernadette (Melissa Rauch). Apparently, this idea came for Molaro’s real wedding night! He revealed that he was the one who was sick, but told his wife “We have to consummate the marriage” – which happens to be the exact same line delivered on screen.

The writers also gave insight into what’s ahead for the upcoming seventh season. Molaro says that Leonard (Johhny Galecki) will be seen at sea setting sail on a research trip with Hawking. He also said that Raj (Kunal Nayyar) will explore his newfound ability to talk to women – without being tipsy. However, he told TV Line that this does not necessarily mean he’s very good at it. The season will also pick up about four months after the finale.

The Big Bang Theory remains the number one TV comedy on air. Racking up an abundance of Emmy awards from actors categories to Best Sitcom, the show also manages to reach roughly 20 million viewers in the key 18-49 demographic.

Check out the interview with the writers and producers down below. The Big Bang Theory premieres September 26 on CBS.
