‘True Blood’ Comic-Con Panel: what to watch out for the rest of the season plus season seven plans

Ballroom 20 was packed with screaming fans on Sunday as new footage was released in a trailer for the rest of True Blood’s sixth season. And it looks bloody good.

We’ve got Sookie giving a tearful eulogy, the vamps and co. getting some heated action – including Jessica with the brooding long haired vamp James – Sarah playing mind games with the vampires in camp as they scramble for blood, the stakes raising between the shifters and wolves, a confused Sookie facing her feelings for Warlow, and a last haunting image of Bill lying bloody and lifeless on the floor.

There are plenty of storylines to wrap up this season including the war between the humans and vampires, how the vampires will get out of the camp and what they will feed off of now that True Bloods are contaminated, Bill’s struggle with Lillith, Sam’s struggle with Alcide and the pack, and finally Sookie’s understanding of Warlow’s true character.

Though the cast and crew didn’t reveal many details, new showrunner Brian Buckner promised season six would end “awesomely” and that the show would return to it’s original roots for the seventh season. This includes keeping the story focused on the humans and vampires along with maintaining the Southern small-town feel.

Bucker said, “We’re going to try to condense the number of stories we’re telling and make this really feel like we’re coming home. I wanna bring it in a little bit. Not to discount Charlaine (Harris’s) books at all, but my hope is to get all these people we love living under this one story and one threat. Really just make it about this small town we’ve all come to know and love.”
