On Tuesday’s episode of Late Night With David Letterman, guest Adam Sandler shared how he was recently attacked by a cheetah in South Africa.
Sandler’s appeared on the show to discuss his upcoming movie release of Grown Ups 2, but the most shocking revelation of their chat was about the animal attack. The 46-year-old actor even provided a clip of the ecounter, according to The Inquisitr.
On a day off from filming his new movie, Blended, with friend and co-star Drew Barrymore, Sandler decided to experience the wildlife of South Africa at a private safari site. When he was invited by the owner to help feed the cheetah, Sandler apparently upset the animal with his body language, causing it to turn and jump on his back.
According to MSN, Sandler described the confrontation, addressing his total lack of his response.
"They were very nice people at this place (the wildlife park), they let me in with a cheetah ... and said I could feed the cheetah water with my hands. So I did it and something went a little bit wrong." Sandler continued, "What happened was they said you're not supposed to bend down low by the water and that's why he got mad. ... I played it off real good ... (but) I was very nervous ... I swear to God when he jumped on me all I was gonna do was let him eat me, there was not one part of me that was gonna fight back. I was like, 'Alright, this is how I'm dying.”
Lucky for him, the cat’s owner interfered and pulled the animal off of the actor. Sandler’s calm demeanor is most likely what deterred the cheetah’s aggressive behavior and left him without injury.
