As the Jackson family’s trial against AEG Live entertainment company rages on, new evidence is presented to paint the late Michael Jackson as a caring and devoted father.
Handwritten notes between the King of Pop and his children Blanket and Paris were presented in court on Thursday. Taj Jackson, nephew of the deceased singer, authenticated the handwriting in one of the letters as Jackson’s.
“Words of Blanket my son 6 years young,” the note, written by Jackson, begins, according to The New York Daily News . “’What’s your favorite letters Daddy? Mine is ‘G’ for God and ‘D’ for Daddy.’”
The note, along with a letter from Paris to her father, were admitted into the trial at Katherine Jackson’s insistence, saying they prove the depth of love and affection Jackson had for his children, and the extreme emotional loss felt by his untimely death.
“Dear Daddy, I love you so much & I’m so glad I got a goodnight hug,” Jackson’s daughter, Paris, wrote to him in a note written on lined paper. “Sleep well, I love you & good night. I’ll see you tomorrow! XOX Goodnight. Lots of love, Paris Jackson.”
The young girl, who recently made headlines when she attempted to take her own life, dotted the “i” in her name with a heart.
The Jackson matriarch, Katherine, is suing the entertainment company, saying that they negligently hired the doctor who administered sleeping aid to the superstar singer while he prepared for his comeback tour.
The trial proceedings also included discussion of Taj Jackson’s rants about the media’s portrayal of his uncle as a child molester, The L.A. Times , reports.
