Top 10 'True Blood' moments

Fangbangers rejoiced when they heard the news that hit HBO show True Blood was renewed for a seventh season.

Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming, called the series a “phenomenon” as it remains a show with a strong cult following, drawing in an average of 4.5 million viewers.

In honor of True Blood’s renewal, we’ve compiled a list of the top ten moments from the series. Keep in mind with now six and half seasons of intense episodes, there was so much sex, violence, and Pam-isms to choose from! Enjoy and be sure to weigh in with your thoughts below.

10. Sookie finds out she’s a fairy

Sookie has some kick ass Southern sass in this scene as she comes to terms with her “fairy” nature.

9. Maurella gives an orgasmic birth to quadruplets

Grab the popcorn everyone – and hang tight onto the martinis. When Maurella comes into Merlotte’s looking for Andy, we didn’t expect to see her give birth on the pool table! Much less Holly delivering the babies. And much less orgasmic moans and shouts of “yes!” while the staff watches the live action. And surprise for Andy! Out pops four baby fairy girls that Maurella tells him to take good care of – and then leaves.

8. Surprise! Steve Newlin is a gay vampire

One of the show’s greatest, frightening twists was when the former Fellowship of the Sun leader shows up at Jason’s door -looking preppier and more obnoxious than ever - and shows off his new fangs. Yikes! And if that wasn’t enough he claims his love for Jason and forces himself on him. Now the former leader of the religious anti-vampire group has really turned over to the dark side.

7. Ginger vibrates on Pam’s coffin

When in doubt you’re trying to keep a coffin closed, jump on top of it and enjoy the ride. Well, at least that’s how dumb as a doornail Ginger tried to keep Pam’s coffin closed so she wouldn’t meet the sun while under a spell.

6. Pam interrupts Eric and Sookie’s first kiss

Blah, blah vampire emergency, blah, says classically expressionless Pam as she slams the door open clearly interrupting a beautiful moment between “Sooric.” Too bad she could care less!

5. Sookie seduces and strikes Warlow

This is the Sookie we love to see! She recently proved that she is able to fend for herself, and she did so in the best possible way – seducing and going in for the kill. Although she didn’t actually kill Warlow (guess her light doesn’t work on a half vampire), she had some good fight in her when she passionately embraced Ben/Warlow on the couch, hovered her light over him, and viciously whispered: get the f*** off me or die, Warlow.”

4. Russell Edgington’s newscast

In a quicker than lighting moment, Russell Edgington (RIP) nonchalantly attacks a newscaster on live television, violently ripping out his heart and spine. Holding the newscaster’s heart in his hand, he goes on to deliver a passionate speech about how vampires are the superior species. But just as we begin to shiver at the image of him calling humans spineless characters as he throws the newscaster’s spine behind him, he raises an eyebrow and concludes “Now for the weather! Tiffany?” Perhaps one of the greatest TV lines ever delivered.

3. Jessica walks into the sun and is saved by Jason

The Jessica/Jason relationship is one indeed complicated relationship. They represent true love to one another and even though they’ve had their moments where they hate each other, they always find a way back. The scary moment when Jessica released herself from her silver chains to meet the sun while under a spell had Jason sprinting to her rescue just in time before she would have met her true death. It of course ends with a romantic kiss.

2. Godric meeting the sun

Never have we seen and never will we see Eric being as emotional in this scene than in any other scene. Though we met Godric – and bid him farewell - way back in season two, he still remains a large part of our hearts. The philosophical vampire was the one to teach Eric what it means to be a maker and how to be a leader in the vampire race. As Godric, Eric, and Sookie stand on top of a rooftop awaiting the sun, Eric and Godric engage in deep, existential conversation. Eric is in denial about Godric wanting to meet his true death and we even see him cry blood. Sookie stands by Godric’s side as he crumples into a pile of ash. We’ve never shed so many tears!

1. Sookie’s threesome fantasy

Okay, okay, even though it was Sookie’s fantasy doesn’t mean it wasn’t ours too! Sookie wakes up in a red dress with smooth jazz playing in the background only to order Bill and Eric around to do bad things to her 😉
