'American Idol' finds third judge

It appears as if the third judge spot has been filled on the popular TV show American Idol.

Deadline is reporting that music producer Dr. Luke is in final negotiations to join the judge’s table for the upcoming 13th season for the Fox show. He will join returning judges Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez. Urban was part of the show last year. Lopez was a judge two years ago, but took last year off before retuning this year. Long time judge Randy Jackson will not be returning for the upcoming season.

According to E! Online Dr. Luke began negotiations earlier this week after Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am turned down the gig.

While Dr. Luke (whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald) may not be well known to the public, his work certainly is. He has over 20 songs that have the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Some of his biggest songs that he has been a part of include Kelly Clarkson’s “Sine U Been Gone”, Katy Perry’s “California Girls” and “I Kissed A Girl” and Kei$ha’s “Tik Tok.” Dr. Luke has also appeared as the lead guitarist on the Saturday Night Live house band.
