Back-to-school: Top 10 things incoming college freshman should know

It's that time of year again. However, if you're a senior who just graduated, dread nothing. College will be the time of your life. Having just finished my first year at university, I’ve had the time of my life. I’m definitely not the party-goer type or one to stay out late and get crazy. I’ve taken advantage of what college has to offer for my career and academic success. You should do this, too! But, if the friends I’ve made and people I’ve seen have taught me anything, it’s that you can let loose, get crazy, and studious all at the same time. High school seniors, if you have any anxiety at all, do not worry. Here are the Top 10 things you should know to prepare you for the best four years of your life.

10. Be prepared to walk into class hung over. You'll get used to it after a while.

9. Try studying in your dorm. I dare you. It won't work.

8. If a guy wants to hang out at night alone he definitely likes your personality (not).

7. If you want to join a frat or sorority be prepared for the major hazing but also think about the consequences before attempting something. Some things aren’t worth it.

6. It is college. “Work hard, play harder.”

5. If you think cramming two nights before an exam will work. It won't. Take notes in class of every single thing your professor says.

4. If you want to make tons of friends, get involved and act like you already know everyone there. It’s easier to get acquainted.

3. Be careful with your money. Balance it well. Living off your parent’s dime will run out sooner than you think.

2. Communicate with your roommate about everything.

1. It’s college. Have the time of your life.
