Majed El Shafie, persecuted human rights leader, to appear on ‘Glenn Beck’

Majed El Shafie, a leading human rights activist and the founder of One Free World International, will continue a series of high-profile media appearances on The Glenn Beck Program today.

The program will air today at 5pm ET on TheBlaze TV, according to the press release.

El Shafie will then appear on the Laura Ingraham Show, one of the U.S.’s Top 10 national talk radio programs, on August 12 at 11:30am ET.

A persistent and outspoken defender of human rights, especially for the freedom of religion and the rights of minorities, El Shafie was arrested, tortured and sentenced to death in Egypt for his activism.

His recent and upcoming media appearances coincide with the release of his new book, Freedom Fighter: One Man’s Fight for One Free World, in which he tells the story of his fight against religious persecution.

Freedom Fighter, an award-winning human rights documentary directed by Chris Atkins, is available as a DVD as a companion to El Shafie’s book.

The film follows El Shafie on visits to Afghanistan and Pakistan, where he finds people who have been persecuted for religious reasons and challenges the governments to change their practices.

El Shafie escaped to Israel and now lives in Canada, according to the World Truth Summit, and regularly appears before the U.S. Congress and the Canadian Parliament and Senate. His organization, One Free World International, fights for people persecuted around the world.
