'Scenic Route' with Josh Duhamel surprises audiences

In Josh Duhamel’s new film, Scenic Route, he is a man unhappy in his marriage, seemingly sticking around out of responsibility to his son. His friend, plans a road trip through the desert. The trip is suppose to spark a real conversation and cheer him up, but it doesn't go as planned. It is directed by Kevin and Michael Goetzv and written by Kyle Killen.

Cary Darling (Fort Worth Star-Telegram), wrote on theMiami Herald that the film is "actually a well-made, well-acted low-budget thriller that is more resonant than expected.
Anthony Stokes, a blogger for Flickering Myth said film "is basically a horror movie and it gets very disturbing at times.  It doesn't go overboard but I really appreciated the extra steps it took, which you generally wouldn't find in a studio movie."

He also added that the film is different from most indie horror films because it attempted a more satisfying ending than its peers. He remarks, "Generally, these movies always have anti-climactic endings…However, Scenic Route finds an interesting way around this stumbling block, and while it wasn't as satisfying as I wanted, I appreciated that they at least tried."
