Following weeks of reports that X Factor judge Simon Cowell is expecting a child with New York socialite Lauren Silverman, Cowell has opened up about his future role saying, “I’m proud to be a dad.”
BBC caught up with the sharp tongued father-to-be who gushed, “I'm proud to be a dad…It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it."
Cowell and Silverman have remained quiet since the news of her pregnancy hit. Silverman was married to Cowell’s longtime friend Andrew, the couple has since split.
The 53-year-old judge was approached about the pregnancy earlier this month during The X Factor TCA panel in Los Angeles. Cowell remained mum about the news at the time saying, “Unfortunately, I have to keep this for the moment private . It's just one of those things. But thank you very much anyway."
This time, the normally cross judge is showing a softer side, telling the BBC’s Lizo Mzimba that Silverman is a “very special girl,” adding, “Things are changing in my life right now, for the better.”
