Based on true events, Alexandre Moore's feature debut Blue Caprice chronicles the 2002 D.C. snipers from the viewpoint of the two killers. The film stars Isaiah Washington (Grey's Anatomy) as John Allen Muhammad and Tequan Richmond (Everybody Hates Chris) as his accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo. Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy), Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, Where Art Thou?) and Leo Fitzpatrick (The Wire) co-star in this psychological thriller that delves into the minds of two men who terrorized our nation's capital.
Blue Caprice has made it's festival runs throughout the year, but now that it's getting it's theatrical release, we finally have a trailer. And what a trailer it is. Isaiah Washington looks to to be delivering a strong performance as the mastermind of the attacks, as he teaches his protege how to shoot and how to deal with the organized chaos that is killing. Tequan Richmond, a relative unknown, will surely see his stock rise after this turn as such an infamous person in recent American history.
Growing up in the D.C. area, seeing this trailer brings back some troubled times, but the strong performances and insight into the sniper's minds make this one worth checking out.
Blue Caprice is set for a limited release on September 13.
