When Drake canceled his Saturday concert an hour after the scheduled start time due to technical issues, fans assumed he was just having problems with lighting or sound. Now, it's been revealed that the real reason for canceling the show was for safety concerns.
According to TMZ, Drake canceled at the last minute because the catwalk over the stage was not working properly – and he feared it might fall into the crowd.
During his performance, Drake walks across the catwalk repeatedly, so if anything was wrong with it, things could have gone terribly wrong for not only the rapper, but his audience as well.
So, Drake decided to face the angry Twitter reactions of fans after canceling his Philly Would You Like a Tour show at the Wells Fargo Center, rather than risk the death of any of his fans.
The Daily Mail reports that angry fans had all kinds of choice words to say to the rapper. One person commented, “I think it was very disgusting how u canceled the show last night and very unprofessional and even if u do reschedule the date people have other obligations that is totally unfair and I think u owe your fans an apologize seriously!!! [sic]” Drake may have ruined their plans, but he just may have saved their lives.
Drake's team has reportedly fixed the issue, and Drake is scheduled to perform in Montreal tonight.
