Questionable asteroid threat on Earth in 2032

2013 TV135 is coming in 2032 according to Ukrainian scientists. That’s the name they have given a 1,300 foot wide asteroid that they discovered and presume can strike Earth in 19 years, worrying Russians who already experienced two asteroid attacks this last century.

NASA’s Dr. Paul Abell told ABC News that the chances are slim to none but to consider that there is a relevant chance. “We’ve had nine days to study this, and I would say it has a one in 48,000 chance of hitting Earth, and as we continue gathering data, we believe it will eventually go down to zero.” NASA experts agree that the asteroids detected in advance are not the biggest threat but the ones that go unseen is their mission to discover. Due to this, NASA proposes a Near Earth Observation program and Asteroid Initiative, designed to explore and redirect asteroids that travel too close to the Earth. The most recent asteroid to hit Earth without warning occurred on Feb 15th when a 17-meter asteroid ignited a 440 kiloton blast in Chelyabinsk, Russia
