Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are setting the record straight and addressing rumors that they’ve been dealing with some financial troubles.
According to USA Today, Spelling and McDermott revealed that they aren’t loaded.
“We're in the entertainment business, and things change year to year," Spelling told People. "We don't have a series on the air right now, so we have to be more restrictive of what we can spend, just like anyone who doesn't currently have a steady job."
Spelling also revealed, “I haven't bought a purse in three years and it's fine. I look back at the girl who shopped at Gucci in my twenties and I can't even relate. I can't believe I thought that was important."
It was also rumored that the couple couldn’t afford a vasectomy.
Now, E! Online reports that McDermott is clearing up any financial rumors.
"Right now things are going well. I have several exciting projects in the works," he told Us Weekly. "Could we afford a vasectomy? Probably. Was it a tougher time for us financially? Yeah, for sure. That's just the truth of it—it's the nature of this business."
He continues, “Sometimes things are awesome, sometimes they're just not. But it's about how we tackle things as a couple, as a family. And we do a pretty good job of that."
Spelling recently released her new memoir, Spelling It Like It Is. In the book, Spelling speaks out about her financial history writing, “It's no mystery why I have money problems. I grew up rich beyond anyone's dreams. Even when I try to embrace a simpler lifestyle, I can't seem to let go of my expensive tastes. And then there's my little shopping problem."
She added, "I can't afford to live like this anymore. Our circumstances have changed. They say admitting the problem is the first step."
