Grace Potter married bandmate Matt Burr six months ago

The fact that singer Grace Potter of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and bandmate Matt Burr are a couple is nothing new at all, having found each other at college ten years ago. But in a surprise move they announced their marriage. Why is that surprising? Because it took place six months ago.

According to the Burlington Free Press the couple they were married on May 11 on the Caribbean island of St. Barthelemy, also known as St. Bart’s. The wedding was held at a private villa and invitations only went to close friends.

The The Hollywood Reporter detailed Potter walked down the aisle to the song "Si Tu Vois Ma Mère" by Sidney Bechet and the couple chose the song "Many Rivers to Cross" by Jimmy Cliff before taking their marriage vows. Ironically, the couple's first dance was to Elvis Presley's "Fools Rush In.”

The band's rep notes: "It's impossible to disentangle their careers from their personal lives.” The statement goes on to say that they have deflected personal questions are hoping that coming out with this announcement will finally put an end to questions about their relationship.
