5-year-old boy sells toys, gives $230 to Easter Seals

5-year-old Aman really got into the holiday spirit this season when he sold many of his toys and donated all of the money he earned to Easter Seals.

According to KXAN, Aman made $230 from selling his toys, and gave the entire amount to the organization that helps children with disabilities. After his family lost a brother to a rare disease 11 years ago, Aman wanted to do something to give back.

"We've always told him, 'hey you had a brother he was special needs,'" Aman's father, Aslam Sulaiman said. "'And this is what special needs kids do or don't do.'"

He added of his son's amazing deed, "For him to come up with this was kind of surprising for me."

But little Aman always wondered why some people have to struggle. "Every time we discussed (the subject), he obviously goes into a thought process immediately," said his mom, Sumitha Tharasingh, "He doesn't react. He just thinks, and he asks, 'why mom, why couldn't he eat, why mom, why couldn't he walk.'"

So when he thought up a plan to help other kids, Aman didn't even think twice about what he did. "I cleaned the toys and put them up for the sale," he said. "Then they bought the toys and stuff. Then they give us money."

While his huge act of kindness is impressive for a five-year-old, Aman wants to continue raising money for special needs kids, and hopefully increase the amount he can give. "I'm going to help special needs kids again -- but help using friends," he said "This time (I'll make) $1,000."

Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, as well as their families, for over 100 years, in an effort to improve their quality of life.
