With her performance at President Barack Obama's inauguration, the Super Bowl performance that reunited her with her Destiny's Child group members, the worldwide Mrs Carter Show World Tour and an HBO documentary revealing details of her family life with husband Jay Z and their baby, Queen Bey commanded attention.
Ace Showbiz reports that the top ten mos-searched people in the U.S. for 2013 are Beyoncé Knowles, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Amanda Bynes, Miley Cyrus and Barack Obama.
In the United Kingdom, Justin Bieber tops the most-searched person list, followed by Beyoncé Knowles, Kate Middleton, Selena Gomez, Nicole Scherzinger, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Emma Watson and Kelly Brook.
According to Reuters, the search engine releases a list every year, and breaks the categories down into topics including entertainment, sports, technology and news.
The birth of Prince William's and Kate Middleton's first child in July claims the title for the most searched news stories of 2013, with the Boston Marathon bombings in April following in second place.
Facebook was named the most-searched social media site, and Netflix topped the list for the most-searched streaming sites.
As for sports, former Denver Broncos football quarterback Tim Tebow was the most-searched person, while the Dallas Cowboys was crowned most-searched sports team.
