Daily Wrap of All Things for Dec. 28: 'Duck Dynasty,' Florida, Shia LaBeouf and Justin Bieber

Here’s our daily wrap for Saturday Dec. 28th:

Duck Dynasty is getting their patriarch back. Phil Robertson was suspended for remarks he made in an interview with GQ concerning his religious belief. Now Robertson will be returning to filming in the spring.
One of our own writers wrote an opinion piece about how the whole scandal was for publicity and not free speech.

Even though there is plenty of sun down in The Sunshine State, that still doesn’t stop Florida from having over a thousand tanning salons in the state. There are even more tanning salons than there are McDonald’s restaurants in the state. In comparison, Florida has 1261 tanning salons and 868 McDonalds which can be the reason can account for the fact that Florida has the second highest melanoma rate in the country.

Melville House and Fantagraphics are looking at the possibility of seeking legal action over Shia LaBeouf’s plagiarism of the novel The Little Girl and the Cigarette. Neither publisher has spoken to LaBeouf about the plagiarism claim yet.

Justin Bieber claimed he was retiring on Christmas Eve but now his management team is saying he is definitely not leaving the music business. COO of ScooterBraun Projects, Scott Manson, said Bieber is not retiring and plans to record next year.
