Top 5 Last Minute Christmas Gifts

Christmas is here and you’ve forgotten to get someone a gift. Have no fear, I am here to help. I have made a list of five gifts that you can find for last minute.

It is nothing to be ashamed of if you forgot someone on your list or if you didn’t have time shopping. It happens to everyone and it is a crazy time of year. But, the solution to forgetting gifts is trying to pretend that you didn’t.

The most important part of a last minute gift is your task of pretending that you didn’t wait until the last minute. It should seem that every gift that you give to someone was planned and not thrown together. The gifts should seem heartfelt, not panicked. These gifts are close enough.

Christmas is a time for giving. It doesn’t matter if your giving process began in November or if you’re just starting now. The most important part is that the receiver knows that they are loved. If showing your love means rushing on Christmas eve to have one last gift, then, so be it.

Here are five last minute gifts. Comment at the end if you have any more ideas.

5. Re-gift

Sometimes you get things you don’t want or you get two sweaters with Moose on them. Instead of returning them, simply give it to someone else. They don’t have to know that you got it from someone else. You can seem like you didn’t wait until the last minute.

Make sure that you don’t re-gift the same gift to the person who first gave it to you. That would be awkward.

4. Christmas Ornament

Nothing says last minute like getting a gift that you can’t use until next year.

If you go to any store, ornaments are everywhere. There are big ones and small ones. There are glitter covered and cowboy boot shaped. There is an ornament to fit any personality. And because it is so close to Christmas, some of those are actually on sale.

When picking this gift, you can make it personal. You can look through selves and try to pick the one that best represents the person you are buying it for. If you are buying for a ballerina, you could buy a ornament that has ballet shoes on it. The possibilities are seemingly endless.

The ornament below is great for dog lovers and is called “Peppermint Bark” and is at Hallmark. It is adorable and personal. Plus, no one has to know that you bought it last minute.

3. DIY Gifts

DIY stands for Do It Yourself. And sometimes the DIY gifts show the most heart. They are also great for last minute. If you are late, it is easier to slap something together than it is to fight the crowds for the last doll or iPod.

There are tons of options that you can do. You can do the Christmas related DIY like making someone a homemade wreath. Or you can make something that a person can use all year such as a monogrammed pillow.

2. Gift Cards

You know that they like shopping at this said store. However, you don’t have time to shop for them. There is an easy, quick solution. You could give them a gift card. If you don’t know where they like to shop, you could get them a gift card for a credit card company or for Amazon.

Gift cards are available everywhere. Gift cards for other stores are even available at some drug stores. It takes a short amount of time to grab one. You can even buy special gift card boxes. It is cute.

Below is a gift card for Amazon in a decorative box. It is great for anyone of any age.

1. Cold, Hard Cash

The plus side of giving cash for Christmas is that you know that the person is going to use the cash for something that they want. The down side of giving cash is that it is very impersonal. The reason of the season isn’t just giving and getting gifts. Giving cash shows no personality in it. While everyone loves cash, it is effortless to give it.

If you have to give cash, I suggest that you have a personal card to come with it. Or maybe you can wrap it so that the cash-receiver has a gift to open, rather than just an envelope.
