'American Horror Story: Coven' Recap: 'Protect the Coven'

There's only two episodes left in Coven, and as much as I don't want it to end, I'm also dying to know the following:

1. Who the Supreme is - Since it's a time of crisis causing all of the girls' powers to rise, it's unclear who's stepping up to rob Fiona's place.
2. Will Fiona succeed in killing the Coven? - She seems dead-set on running away with the Axeman so will she get a fairytale ending?
3. What will happen to LaLaurie/Laveau? - There's obviously a deep, twisted feud between these two and though both are immortal, I have a feeling only one of them can really win.

This week's episode, "Protect the Coven," saw Fiona (Jessica Lange) literally protecting the Coven with her BFFL Marie Laveau (I still think they're sudden friendship seems odd) as these two powerful witches planned to ax murder every single one of the witch hunters in a conference. Of course, they met in a civilized conference where the billion-dollar company offered them a truce of no harm for 100 years and their company restored. But Fiona and Marie (Angela Bassett) had a plan of their own - after all Marie wanted a private jet! So once the witch hunters refused, Axeman (Danny Huston) took his ax to every single one of the witch hunters, except for the leader, which he saved for Fiona. With that, Fiona axed him right in the throat, ending any danger to herself and the rest of the witches. Fiona is on top of the world right now and her plan is getting closer to coming into action -- after she kills the young Supreme in the Coven, she's planning on running away happily ever after with Axeman. How romantic!

We also learned about Delphine's (Kathy Bates) past. Aside from the first episode, we've really only been exposed to her good side, and even felt bad for her as Marie tortured her and threatened to spread her body parts all over town. But in this recent episode, her sick desire to kill crept up again, as she pulled apart the body of an innocent houseworker in the attic. But who better to greet her in the attic than Spalding (Denise O'Hare)?! (I thought we had seen the last of him too.) Spalding watches Delphine kill the man and offers to help her kill Marie if she goes out into town and gets an original doll from him. So of course she does, since she so desperately wants revenge on Marie, and in return Spalding gives her Benadryl - the deadly poison to making Marie a mortal! Except not. Spalding actually just tricked her so Delphine would bring him his doll.

That's not to say Delphine didn't try to kill Marie - she stabbed her in the heart with a knife, and when Marie came after her, Spalding pushed her down the stairs and she's now unconscious. I'm guessing in the next episode Delphine will torture Marie the way she tortured her - maybe we'll see Marie's body parts all over town?

In other news, Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) is apparently back from the dead! Turns out that she was able to spit the silver bullet out of her skull after killing Hank, so she didn't really die, and because of that she thinks she's the next Supreme. Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) was ecstatic to see her, but Queenie didn't share the same enthusiasm. Queenie called Cordelia weaker than ever and told her to not talk to her. Poor Delia took the news to heart, and viewed the only way she could become strong again was to take away her eyesight again so she could have the visions she had before. In a very cringeworthy scene in the garden, Delia gouged her eyes out with gardening clippers and let out a deadly scream. Though it may sound gruesome, I'm pretty excited to see what will come to Delia next without her eyesight.

There was also some fighting in the Zoe-Kyle-Madison love triangle. Kyle (Evan Peters) doesn't love Madison (Emma Roberts) anymore, so Madison ignites some Supreme-esque powers to shatter the room a bit, and Myrtle (Frances Conroy) walks into the scene taking it in. The red-headed witch later has a one-on-one chat with Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) who gives her a valued possession along with two tickets for a bus trip to Epcot. Yep, Zoe and Kyle, the apparent star-crossed lovers, are running away to Disney world together! The end for them? I don't think so. Something tells me they'll be back.

Here's the promo for next week's episode titled "Go To Hell."
