Ashanti releases cover art for ‘Braveheart’

R&B superstar, Ashanti, recently released the album cover for her third studio album, Braveheart.

According to HotNewHipHop.com, the cover, which shows a closed-eye Ashanti with huge gems on her fingers, was released this past week even though the actual release of the album is going to be pushed back.

The video to her first single off the album, “I Got It,” featuring Rick Ross, is expected to come out on Feb. 18. However, the album itself was changed to release on March 4.

Ashanti took to Twitter and Instagram in anticipation to count down the days until the highly anticipated video is released saying, “Counting down to the video premiere of ‘I Got It’… #braveheart2014 #igotit.”

Braveheart is the third studio album released by the New York native since the 2008 release of The Declaration. Her first studio album, released in 2002, Ashanti, was her biggest hit reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and going multi-platinum.

However, since her last album, the star has taken a break from the music scene and instead took an acting approach by staring in Lifetime’s Army Wives.

She has also been busy partying with music mogul friends and was seen during Super Bowl weekend cuddling up to former boyfriend, Nelly, at a club in Manhattan.
