Employees at a Mississippi funeral home got the shock of their life Thursday when they unzipped a body bag and found a man alive inside.
According to the Associated Press, workers at Porter and Sons Funeral Home say that Walter Williams was found alive after he started to kick the bag.
The Lexington man was pronounced legally dead at his home hours before the surprise discovery.
The Daily Mail noted that the coroner believes that Williams’ pacemaker may have stopped for a brief period and then started up again.
The coroner also said it that was a “miracle” that the 78-year-old was alive to tell his tale.
Medical personnel was called and transported Williams’ to the hospital where he was met by his family members who certainly did not expect the meeting and had a lot of questions.
Williams is reportedly in good spirits after he cheated death and his family is elated to have him around a while longer.
