Do you have kids? Younger siblings? How terrified would you feel if you discovered a child you love has been kidnapped? What do you expect your community to do about it once they find out? One man conducted an experiment that included a child actor and a camera to see how the average Joe responds to a child’s claims that he has been kidnapped. The results are stunning.
In the description of his YouTube video, The Kidnapping Children Experiment, which has over two million views after being posted only nine days ago, Yousef Erakat describes his biggest fear while growing up was to be kidnapped. He explains that “this video was a way for me to express that fear in an artistic way and also spread positive change as to why it is important to ACT when put into these types of situations . . . This video will not bring back any of the disappeared angels but it may help prevent losing anymore to the devil.”
During an interview on Fox and Friends, as reported by Fox News, Erakat says, “I was expecting to inspire the world because I thought we were gonna have superheroes being shown live on camera –like live superheroes in society but we didn’t get, like, quite that but, you know it was really shocking.”
In 2012, 797,400 children were reported missing, according to The FBI. If people listen to a child’s claims of abduction, how many kids can be saved? It takes a lot of courage to step between a possible abductor and a child, but sometimes all it takes is a brave person, who questions motives and carries pepper spray, to save a life.
Several other videos, including pranks, skits, and random acts of kindness are posted each week at Erakat’s YouTube channel fousyTUBE.
