Andrew Garfield helps teach kids to surf while promoting 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' down under

Andrew Garfield saves lives on more than just the big screen. On Friday, Garfield attended the Hunter Connect – Surfing for Autism event in Sydney, Australia.

The Amazing Spider-Man actor taught autistic children how to surf at the event while visiting with other families reported E! News. Garfield used an Amazing Spider-Man 2 theme surfboard to aide the children with the sport.

Professional surfer, Joel Parkinson, was also at the event on Bondi Beach reported Mail Online .

Garfield is currently down in Australia to promote The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. While he hit the beach, his girl-friend and on-screen love interest, Emma Stone, promoted the super-hero film, being interviewed by Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa Friday morning.

Garfield and Stone began dating in 2011 after working on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man together and have been together since.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released on Australia on April 13.
