The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2 has received a release date.
The Wrap reports that Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, and Dev Patel will return for the Marigold Hotel sequel.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel earned $135 million worldwide in its 2012 release. The films budget was only $10 million.
FOX Searchlight Pictures and Participant Media announced Tuesday that the sequel will receive a limited release on March 6, 2015.
FOX, who co-funded the film with Participant and Image Nation Abu Dhabi, has gained worldwide rights for the film.
Marigold Hotel 2 will have Patel and Smith’s characters co-managing The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for the elderly, and will pick up where the first film left off. Richard Gere, Tamsin Greig, and David Strathairn will be joining the cast.
John Madden will also return as director.
Variety reports that this will be the first sequel released by FOX Searchlight.
Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin of Blueprint Pictures are producing, with Jeff Skoll of Participant Media as executive producer.
