A little over a month before its release, 30 minutes of 3-D Amazing Spider-Man 2 footage was shown at the movie theater convention CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Associated Press reports that the footage was separated into several different parts to be shown to a crowded Ceasar's Palace on Wednesday. The preview included a reunion between Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy after a year apart, as well as a meeting between two of the movie's villains. Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn bond over shared feelings of neglect and loneliness before becoming Electro and the Green Goblin respectively. The preview also explained the death of Parker's parents Richard and Mary, played by Campbell Scott and Embeth Davidtz, which was left a mystery in the first movie.
Founded in 2011, CinemaCon is "the largest and most important annual gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world." It is held by NATO (The National Association of Theatre Owners).
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released on May 2.
