Dave Grohl helps Taylor Greenwood sing for charity (video)

Singer-songwriter Taylor Greenwood got an exclusive look inside Dave Grohl’s recording studio but not because she was a crazed Nirvana or Foo Fighters fan—it was because Grohl was astounded by one of her live performances.

Last year in New York City, Taylor Greenwood commanded the stage with her lively stage presence and strong voice. Grohl was in attendance and was so pleased, he discussed helping her with her upcoming album. The two decided to collaborate for the good of charity with a single called “Sing You to Sleep,” as reported in Spin>

The duo bring bits and pieces of magic into the song, with Greenwood’s beautiful voice and Grohl’s acoustic guitar flare and styles from Nirvana and The Foo Fighters. The video that goes along with the song is nothing short of amazing, as well.

"Dave and I wrote this song together," Greenwood told Rolling Stone > "He came up with the beautiful guitar part, obviously, and I sat down at the piano. I sang that lyric, 'now that you're next to me, let me sing you to sleep' without even thinking about it. I thought it would be lovely to do a lullaby. To make whoever listened feel a little comforted, loved, maybe even just a little sleepy."

You can listen to the new track on Greenwood’s website. Listeners can donate any amount of money they’d like in exchange for a download, which helps benefit Project Night Night. The donations help stabilize and provide relief, as well as educational tools to children without homes.
