Fans can look forward to four more seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones. With the latest season of the show set to being on April 6, producers have confirmed that the show will consist of a total of seven seasons.
Show creators of George R.R. Martin’s book series, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, released information saying they would be using the upcoming episodes to direct storylines towards the end of the series according to Toronto Sun.
Game of Thrones is currently in its fourth season, and will feature the events form the third book in the series, A Storm of Swords marking the middle point of the series.
"It feels like this is the midpoint for us. If we're going to go seven seasons, which is the plan, season four is right down the middle, the pivot point,” Benioff said to Vanity Fair. “Seven gods, seven kingdoms, seven seasons. It feels right to us."
What is unknown however is when Martin will release the sixth book of the series, The Winds of Winter.
