Former Oregon high school teacher sentenced for molesting student

A former high school teacher in Oregon was sentenced to one month in jail for molesting a student and another student is suing her for a similar claim.

According to The Oregonian, Denise Keesee, was convicted of two counts of second-degree sex abuse on Monday for molesting a 16-year-boy at Sherwood High School just southwest of Portland.

Following a two-year investigation, Keesee was initially facing six counts of second-degree sexual abuse, but took a plea deal and admitted to two of the counts involving one victim.

KGW reported that the other alleged victim is now suing the 38-year-old for $5.1 million. That suit alleges that the former teacher sexually abused him when he was in her class and that her husband threatened him with a gun after learning about the sexual relationship.

Adam Keesee was a Sherwood police officer at the time. He was later cleared of criminal charges, but has been on leave pending an internal investigation.

His wife was a special education math teacher and both of the boys were placed in her class due to learning disabilities.
