Mark Strong has been cast in the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy i>Grimsby, which is set to be directed by Transporter’s Louis Leterrier.
Variety reported that the film will follow a British secret agent and his long-lost brother, a drunken soccer player. Naturally, the two will have to team up. Strong will play the Black Ops agent and Baron Cohen will play the estranged brother.
The production of the film has undergone several changes, according to JoBlo. Originally, Paramount was set to release the picture with The Dictator’s Larry Charles at the helm. In February, though, production switched over to Sony and Louis Letterier took on the role of director. The reasoning is unknown, but Baron Cohen still has a deal with Paramount for two more films.
Sherlock Holmes alum Strong is currently starring in a production of A View From The Bridge at London’s Young Vic, Deadline noted. Strong also has a role in the upcoming Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch.
Grimsby will film this summer and is set for a release date of July 31, 2015.
