Native Justin Bieber booed at Canada's annual music awards, the Junos

Justin Bieber appears to not be well liked currently in his home country. At Canada’s annual music awards, the Junos, the singer was booed Sunday night by the crowd when he was honored with the Fan Choice Award.

Although Bieber did not attend the awards, when his name was announced the crowd took to booing instead of applause reported the Huffington Post. This was the fourth year in a row that the 20-year-old was awarded the Fan Choice. Canada’s Olympic curling team accepted the awarded for Bieber according to Contra Costa Times.

Bieber later took to Twitter to show his appreciation of the award.

“We won #JUNOFanChoice for the 4th year in a row! Love to all my beliebers. Thank u. Love u,” tweeted Beiber.

A minute later, Bieber followed up with another tweet saying, “As long as u are with me I will never leave you.”

Despite his efforts to show his love to his followers, this is not the first time Bieber as been booed at an event. A year ago, the singer was heckled while accepting his Billboard Milestone Award and later in 2013 was booed in Argentina as well at his own concert after ending his concert early according to Rolling Stone.
