The 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards were held on Saturday with One Direction, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and other familiar names in the music business taking home Mickey Mouse-shaped awards.
Disney taped the show for broadcast on Sunday night. According to Billboard some of the performers included Fifth Harmony, Austin Mahone, R5, Becky G, Zendaya and Ariana Grande. Fifth Harmony took home an award called “That's My Jam – Best Song To Rock Out To With Your BFF” for the track “Me & My Girls.” Zendaya won “You've Got Swag! – Artist With The Best Style (Sponsored by Justice).”
Other major winners include One Direction for Best Music Group; Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It” for Song of the Year; and Fifth Harmony for Breakout Artist of the Year.
Becky G won Best New Artist and Gomez’s Twitter handle won Most Talked About. Swift’s wins came for Fiercest Fans and Best Collaboration for “Everything Has Changed” with Ed Sheeran. However, Swift lost Best Female Artist to Demi Lovato.
Justin Timberlake won Best Male Artist and Frozen’s “Let It Go” won Favorite Movie/TV song. Lovato’s “Made in the USA” won Favorite Road Trip Song and Gomez’s “Birthday” won Best Song to Dance To.
Finally, Ylvis’ “The Fox” won Catchiest New Song; Paramore’s “Still Into You” won Best Crush Song; and Best Song That Makes you Smile went to Britney Spears’ “Ooh La La.”
The ceremony will air on the Disney Channel again on Friday.
