Oprah Winfrey condemns LA Clippers owner Don Sterling, calls for immediate plan of action

Oprah Winfrey is adding in her two cents about the Los Angeles Clippers owner Don Sterling controversy, in which he was caught on tape making racist comments during a fight with his girlfriend V. Stiviano.

The OWN mogul appeared on CBS This Morning on Tuesday alongside Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz to promote her new line of tea.

Winfey said Sterling has "a plantation mentality in the21st century, in 2014,” noting, “it just doesn't fit,” The Hollywood Reporter reports.

She also said “something has to be done…like, now,” about it, with Schultz agreeing, "if it was up to me, I’d ban him for life.”

Winfrey then caught up with TMZ outside the studio and echoed those same sentiments.

“We're all off the plantation. The plantation days are over,” she said. “No, I won't be buying the Clippers, but I hear Magic Johnson might be. I'm not putting it out there, I heard it. That would be really cool.”

She’s not the only prominent figure speaking up about the comments, as President Obama said during a press conference on Sunday.

"When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance, you don't really have to do anything, you just let them talk. That's what happened here," he said at the time.
