Sandra Bullock may star in film about Tupperware parties

Sandra Bullock is still looking for a follow-up to her Oscar nominated performance in Gravity and she may have found it in the story of Brownie Wise, a sales executive who helped launch Tupperware parties.

Bullock would take the lead role in the project, which still doesn’t have a title. According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Help’s Tate Taylor is currently attached to direct, while Mandeville Films/TV team David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman (The Fighter, The Muppets) are producing. First, they will take the idea to the studios, but Disney sounds like a possible landing place. Hoberman and Lieberman have a development deal with Disney.

Taylor is adapting Bob Kealing’s nonfiction book Unsealing Tupperware. Although Earl Silas Tupper created Tupperware, Wise’s idea of Tupperware parties helped launch the brand of food storage containers. She became the first woman on the cover of BusinessWeek in 1954.

Tom Shelley is co-producing. THR reports that Taylor has met with Bullock, but she’s not officially attached yet.

Coincidentally, Jennifer Lawrence is being considered for another project about a successful businesswoman. Back in January, it was reported that David O. Russell wanted to work with her again on a film about Joy Mangano, who invented the Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers. However, there’s been no news on that project recently.

Bullock hasn’t been attached to anything since wrapping Gravity and enjoying her time on the awards circuit earlier this year. She is linked to a sequel to The Heat, her popular cop comedy with Melissa McCarthy.

Taylor’s next film is the James Brown biopic Get On Up, which opens on Aug. 1.
