Store clerk shoots man who forgot to remove ski mask

Authorities have said that a convenience store clerk in Columbus, Ohio shot a man who forgot to remove his ski mask upon entering the store.

According to the New York Daily News, clerk, Mohannad Alhiassha shot Christopher Deeds when he thought he was going to be robbed by the man who entered the store with the mask over his face.

NBC 4 reported that officers responded to a shooting at the Food Mart Express on Monday evening.

Alhiassha told police that he forced Deeds out of the store and into the parking lot. He said that he feared than more than one person was with Deeds so he fired a single shot into the ground. That bullet ricocheted off the pavement and grazed Deeds’ foot.

The 31-year-old said he rode his bicycle to the store and simply did not remember to pull off his mask before he entered the establishment.

He was treated at the scene and is not looking to press any charges against Alhiassha.
