Teen wanted for attack on elderly woman

A 14-year-old boy, described as a homeless teen, remains at large after being accused of beating an 87-year-old woman in an assisted living facility in California.

According to KABC, Hemet police have arrested one suspect in connection with the assault of the elderly woman, however, they are still searching for the second suspect, Raymond Miranda.

Miranda and a 15-year-old accomplice, allegedly broke into the woman’s home on April 17. Authorities say that she awoke while the two teens were attempting to rob her house and was then viciously beaten.

Soon after the alleged attack, cops chased and apprehended the 15-year-old, but were not able to track down Miranda.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where she remains. She is listed in serious, but stable condition.

Authorities are asking the public, especially those in the retirement community, to be on the lookout for, but not to approach the suspect.

The New York Daily News notes that Miranda stands just over five feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. If you see him contact police immediately.
