When Homer gets stuck in the playground, he relays to Marge how he got in that position, starting with his trip to Moe's.
Flashback to Homer playing a drinking game with Lenny and Carl. Whenever the newscaster would utter the word, “Senator,” they would have to take a sip of beer.
Moe, being the devious bartender that he is, calls into the news station to place an anonymous tip about a sex scandal involving two senators.
Once intoxicated, Homer and his buddies fool around on the swings and monkey bars. When Homer stands atop the slide, he accidentally gets stuck in one of the loopy playground bars. After he recounts his story, a frustrated Marge assures Homer that she will return with a fire truck as soon as she gets the kids to school.
Lisa and Bart pop their heads up in plain view before Homer questions why his children are hiding to which his children tells him they are just embarrassed to be seen with him.
Just when the kids assume that Homer has hit rock bottom, the playground set topples over with Homer landing on the puddle of water.
After Bart relays this story to Principal Skinner for his tardiness, Bart makes a break for it with Skinner's back turned.
Bart skates uphill, and just when Skinner looks to be gaining on him, his car dies and rolls back down landing conveniently in a body shop.
The mechanic asks Skinner if he wants a quote. Then, the mechanic proceeds to give Skinner an Oscar Wilde quote before the estimate of the cost.
Bart returns to his treehouse to discover Snake, the notorious criminal, hiding out because he had just committed a robbery in order to afford braces for his kid. Chief Wiggum climbs up looking for Snake, and even tries to bribe Bart with a chocolate bar, but Bart delivers a phony story about Snake's whereabouts.
Over at school, Lisa meets Lucas, who had been choking on his pizza before Lisa saves him. Lucas introduces himself as a competitive eater.
Lucas impresses Lisa by trying to beat the record of most hot dogs eaten, yet he chokes once again. Lisa still finds Lucas sweet.
At the Simpson household, Bart comes home from Little League practice with Milhouse to find a Playstadium 4. Attached to it is a note stating, “To my bud.”
“Something's fishy. Where's the gift certificate?” Milhouse inquires before realizing the game console was stolen.
When Lucas comes over to the Simpson home, Marge answers the door. Lucas introduces himself as a competitive eater again, but this time Homer hears from the living room. As much as Marge discourages Homer from thinking competitive eating is a job, Homer does not back down.
When Marge watches Lisa interact with Lucas, she doesn't understand what her daughter sees in this competitive eater until Selma and Patty hint at the parallel between them and Marge and Homer.
Marge starts to question her happiness with Homer just because her sisters pointed it out, and she goes as far as imagines Lisa's future with Lucas.
Meanwhile, Bart continues to receive pretty nifty gifts from Snake, who steals a tiger and Medieval armor for Bart.
However, Milhouse finds out about Bart's secret when Snake gifts Bart a stolen iPad belonging to Milhouse. Bart tries to distract Milhouse with an unlimited supply of Squishee. As the best buds lounge on the couch, they see that Snake has been captured and that he will be sentenced with the death penalty. Will Bart help Snake get out of this bind?
