The Belgian interior minister said three people were dead after a shooting at the Jewish Museum of Belgium in Brussels on Saturday.
Belgian Interior Minister Joelle Milquet explained to Bel RTL that a person wearing a backpack drove up to the museum entrance, quickly went inside and started shooting before quickly fleeing the scene in the same car, reports CNN.
One person injured was rushed to a nearby hospital. Reports say that it was two men and a woman who were killed at the museum.
Belgian Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Didier Reynders took to Twitter to say he was "shocked by the murders committed at the Jewish Museum."
While the shooting remains under investigation, BBC News reports that one witness at the scene was able to remember the license plate of the escape vehicle.
Brussels Mayor Yvan Mayeur believes that the shooting was likely a terrorist attack "and on the Jewish Museum too, which isn't a coincidence."
