Bryan Singer files motion to dismiss sexual abuse suit

Attorneys for X-Men director Bryan Singer have moved forward in filling a motion to dismiss the current sexual abuse lawsuit that has been filed against Singer.

Variety reported that that the motion was filed on Wednesday in a federal court in Hawaii.

Michael Egan filed a lawsuit against the X-Men: Days of Future Past director alleged that Singer committed sexual abuse during the timeline from August 1999 to October 1999.

Singer has said in many official capacities that he was not in Hawaii during that time period and that he was filming X-Men during that time in Canada and as also on trips in California and New England.

The motion explains that the case should be dismissed from court because of lack of jurisdiction and cited Egan’s deposition in a separate sex abuse lawsuit that was filed back in 2000 against three executives of the Digital Entertainment Network, The Guardian reported.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released in North America on Friday in a wide release.
The upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past is expected to make over $100 million at the box office over Memorial Day weekend. This comic book film is looking to pass the impressive box office numbers that have been posted by films such as Captain America: The Winter Solider, Godzilla and the breakout R-rated comedy Neighbors.
