Paul Walker’s daughter will officially live with her mother, Rebecca Soteros, and a nanny, a court commissioner announced Wednesday.
According to the Associated Press, L.A. Superior Court Commissioner David J. Cowan dismissed the Guardianship case over 15-year-old Meadow Walker after hearing from her attorney, Amy Nieman. Nieman, who was appointed to represent Meadow, argued that there was no need for court oversight being that there was a set plan for the teen’s care. This plan included a close friend to Paul Walker who was appointed to be sure that Meadow receives the proper care. “There are a lot of layers of support for Meadow,” she said in the report.
E! News reports that the “legal drama” really began after Paul Walker’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, petitioned for the guardianship of her granddaughter. She later asked to drop the case, citing Meadow Walker’s wishes.
Niemen also said that Meadow’s mother, Soteros, who was dealing with alcoholism has been sober and spending a lot of time with her daughter while also receiving treatment. Meadow has been under the care of the nanny for two years respectively and she will continue to care for the teen alongside her mother.
Paul Walker left his entire estate to his daughter after he died in a tragic car accident in late November.
