Celebrities tweet their recognition of the armed forces on Memorial Day

Celebrities on Twitter took time out to honor those who have served for the United States, this Memorial Day Monday.

Despite being a sacred day off to spend in the sun with family and friends, Memorial Day is a national holiday for remembering the women and men who died while serving in the country’s armed forces, as well as veterans.

Stars like John Stamos and Heidi Montag tweeted in remembrance of family members who passed away fighting for our country.

Justin Timberlake took a moment to tweet his thanks and appreciation for those in uniform and retweeted fans who lost family members to war.

Others like Miranda Lambert, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Scandal’s Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington thanked those who have served in the fight for freedom and peace.

After skipping his sister Kim’s wedding to Kanye West, Rob Kardashian tweeted asking those who risks their lives for the public good to be looked over regardless of their service title.

The Kardashian brother’s patriotic tweets did not stop at thanking the soldiers and veterans but the country as a whole as well.
