Christopher Lee celebrates 92nd birthday with heavy metal album

To celebrate his 92nd birthday, Sir Christopher Lee released a heavy metal EP, entitled Metal Knight.

The EP is seven tracks long, with three tracks being extended versions, and three songs are covers of The Man Of La Mancha, reports Sky News. The three tracks, from the musical based on the Don Quixote character, are "The Impossible Dream," "The Toreador March" and "I, Don Quixote."

"As far as I am concerned, Don Quixote is the most metal fictional character that I know," Lee said. "Single-handed, he is trying to change the world, regardless of any personal consequences. It is a wonderful character to sing."
In addition to the three musical cover songs, the legendary actor also covered Frank Sinatra's "My Way" for the EP.

In a YouTube video released ahead of Metal Knight, Lee explains his fascination with Don Quixote and discusses the meaning behind each of the song that shows up on the EP.

Sky notes that the Lord of the Rings actor became the world's oldest performer to hit the Billboard charts last year when he released his version of "Jingle Hell (Bells)," which hit at the No. 18 spot. The New York Daily News notes that Lee also released the single "Let Legend Mark Me as a King" on his 90th birthday.
