Coldplay easily took the Billboard 200 top spot for the week ending May 25 with their latest album, Ghost Stories.
The album snagged the biggest debut of 2014 with 383,000 sold copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, reports Billboard. Eric Church previously had the best start with The Outsiders, which sold 288,000 back in February.
Ghost Stories is the band's fourth album to take the No. 1 spot, behind Mylo Xyloto, Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends and X&Y. The sales of their latest album, though, don't hold a candle to last two as each pulled in over 700,000 copies in their first week of sales.
Brandley Gilbert managed a respectable 211,000 copies sold of his third album Just As I Am to capture the second spot. The country album also topped the County Album chart.
Last week's second-best seller, Michael Jackson's Xscape, which debuted with 157,000 copies sold, only dropped one spot with an additional 67,000 copies sold.
The Black Keys suffered a harsher fall, down to No. 5 after topping the previous week. Turn Blue sold 54,000 copies for its second week, with the Frozen soundtrack managing to take the fourth spot on the chart with 65,000 in sales.
As previously reported, Iggy Azalea topped the Billboard Hot 100 with her single "Fancy" and was at the second spot as well due to providing vocals for Ariana Grande's "Problem."
